In 2009, Kelly began attending County Executive Committee meetings and Republican club meetings. Later, he ran and defeated an 18 year incumbent Precinct Chair in Corinth who had not been active for some time. From there Kelly was in charge of a phone bank at Denton County GOP headquarters, which operated 4-5 evenings per week for 9 weeks in the fall of 2012. Kelly later became Vice Chair of Finance, Chair of Senate District 12 Nominations and then Area Leader and Vice Chair of Political Affairs. Kelly has served hundreds of hours as a volunteer for the annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner and community outreach events. Kelly has attended numerous Precinct Chair Conventions, Senate District Conventions and State Conventions. In addition to this experience, Kelly has 33 years of executive experience as owner of a 9-store operation reaching from Granbury to Childress, Texas.
