Join us for the next broadcast of Record Talk Radio on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. when we'll talk about all things transition.
We'll also talk about efforts to create residential downtown districts in several Bergen County towns and the trend of retail stores getting the jump on holiday sales by opening on Thanksgiving Day.
Bergen County government is currently undergoing a transition as Democratic Freeholder and County Executive-elect James Tedesco prepares to take the reins from outgoing Republican incumbent Kathleen Donovan.
Our guests will be two people who previously have had the experience of leading a county transition team.
Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle led the transition team after Democrat Dennis McNerney was elected county executive in November 2002.
Acting County Administrator Jerrold Binney led the transition effort in November 1994 when Republican William "Pat" Schuber became Bergen's second county executive.
Binney also is working with Tedesco's team to work out the details of the current transition.
Our guests also will include Record business reporter Joan Verdon, who will talk about towns like Hackensack and Ridgewood trying to grow residential downtowns.
She will also discuss the trend of retail stores in Paramus scheduling Thanksgiving shopping hours
