These two documents set the foundation for the American Exceptionalism that has made a America a superpower for good around the world.
Our Representative Republic is about the individual. Our government was built on the idea that it would stay out of the way of the individual so he or she can succeed or fail based on ones own merit. We are a nation of laws.
Unfortunately our leaders lose sight of these ideals but our founding fathers anticipated man's darker human nature and incorporated fixes when individual men put themselves above "We The People"
