The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is having its 40th Annual Meeting yesterday, today and tomorrow. Infamous for stands like the repeal of minimum wage laws and capital gains taxes, their support of the Citizens United decision, privitization, and "Stand Your Ground" law, I am personally most concerned that, as recently as March of 2013, Republican National Committee (RNC) called upon ALEC to help develop and implement model legislation to dismantle campaign finance reform in order to help revive the Republican party through abolishing campaign spending regulations and contribution limits. People for the American Way, The ALEC Welcoming and Committee, and others plan to protest the meeting. Do you believe in protest, virtual or actual, as a legitimate freedom of speech? How do you feel about ALEC? Will you be protesting or supporting the protestors? Jeanene Louden and co-host Debilyn Molineaux discuss current events with a particular spin towards the influence of money in politics, actions we can take or innovative solutions that others have found to inspire us. Join us weekly Thursdays at Noon Pacific for the Blue Plate Special of civil politics.
