GOP economic argument = "acting like someone else did what?"

"Love how the GOP, after bringing the economy to the brink of ruin in 2008, are now acting like someone else farted." —Andy Borowitz by Don Manning Today on Facebook and Scoop.it, and tonight on Speaking of America, were holding a contest to see who in the Coffee Party community can come up with a less gross way of stating the obvious. Mr. Borowitz is a genius, but can someone please help us come up with a better analogy?!? Don Manning will be the judge who selects three winners, whose prizes will be books, CDs and DVDs by Coffee Party leaders. Time and time again during the first two debates, the Republican argument for being "down on America" has relied entirely on an "oblivate" spell, causing mass amnesia when it comes to the fact that the Bush Recession actually began during the Bush administration, and, that the job losses during the early months of the Obama administration were the result of Bush polices. In a country this size, common sense tells us the economic policies do not take immediate effect. In the chart above, for instance, the Recovery Act and rescuing of the auto industry do not result in private sector job growth immediately. The impact is gradual, and, it takes about a year before the America is adding private sector jobs again.
