While the Chinese cyberattacks make big news and concern defense experts in the U.S., it gives the Department of Defense an argument for funding in Congress during a time of austerity and cutbacks. The Minnesota Republican who ran for president last in the Republican primary made the announcement in an 8-minute video release early this morning. A firebrand conservative, Bachmann chaired the Tea Party Caucus in Congress and seldom made a speech in the last few years that didn't criticize the president or the Affordable Care Act.
