The Pres budget is finally unveiled, 65 days late, and basically dead on arrival. But could it serve as a blueprint for a "global deal" on tax and entitlement reform? The gun control debate will get its first test vote tomorrow in the Senate, all the while Sen. Manchin (D-WVA) and Toomey (R-PA) say they have a deal on background checks for Internet sales and gun show sales. How will that vote play out? Pizza anyone? A dozen GOP Sens are heading to the White House tonight for dinner with the Prez in his second attempt to reach out to republican Members of Congress. When the chairman of RNC heard about the dinner invite, he suggested that they not frequent an expensive DC restaurant, but rather do it at "home", on the cheap, given the sequester cuts. The GOP even offered to buy the meals...Hold the anchovies please!
