Demos Fellow and voting expert Tova Andrea Wang on voter supression. Tova outlines the history of voter suppression in the US and how it went from a local problem to a national - and Republican - strategy in the 1960s. Tovas new book, The Politics of Voter Supression from the The Century Foundation is ripping the mask off of the so-called voter fraud scam being used by Republicans nationwide to suppress voting in Democratic districts. The charges against a major Republican voter registration firm - the Romney campaign firm - this week underscores how keeping people from the polls has become an integral part of Tea Party and Republican victories, threatening to end demomcracy as we know it in America. 2:08 pm Geoffrey Lean of the London Daily Telegraph reports on the problems with high speed rail in London - similar to those in California, and how biofuels are threatening the worlds food supply.
